Heifer International is one of the top 10 most trusted nonprofits in America and one that people identified as an organization they would most likely personally give to, a new Harris Interactive brand equity study shows.

Heifer Join hands with Project Families to Ease Drought

A severe drought has been ravaging in the South-west region of China since early this year. Heifer China has recently visited the affected areas to understand the effect of the disaster.  In order to solve the problem of water shortage for crops, Heifer China has provided the project families with water tanks and portable containers.

Recipients visit HK to share their lives

Heifer HK invited three young recipients from Sichuan, Anhui and Yunnan for a visit to Hong Kong to share with Hong Kong students the joy and bitterness in their lives and the assistance from Heifer. They were also interviewed by TVB's "Today's VIP" programme with "Star of Chores for Change" Lai Yiu Cheung.

Heifer's Measure of Success

Heifer International kicked off the cycle of evaluations in 2005 to measure the impact of its work and determine whether or not efforts by staff and volunteers and generous gifts from donors were contributing to making a difference in the lives of the families with whom Heifer works. Sustainable Solution for Earthquake Immigrants

Gao Wanxue, a teenage girl born in a small county, Qingchuan in Sichuan, had never imagined such great changes in her life until the Sichuan earthquake in 2008. Heifer started "Sichuan Earthquake Rehabilitation Project" in Wanxue's village in November 2009. When setting up the self-help group and the community development plan there, the community found that the crucial problem there was the lack of a sustainable livelihood. Goat raising was found to be the best solution for villagers to earn a living. Wanxue's family got 14 goats. Read More.

Donors’ Sharing after Anhui Project Visit

In October 2009, a number of donors visited Heifer's project in Longjin Village and Wangjiachong Village, Huoshan County, Anhui Province and they shared their feeling with us after the visit. "The children here lead a tough life but they are still very happy with their simple life. When I gave the gift of sketch books to them, they were so delighted. Gao Hongyu is an honest and shy young man living in Zhonghuanghao Village in Yixian, Hebei. Gan was very weak when he was a child but that didn't discourage him from developing interests in animal health care. With Heifer's training, he has enriched his knowledge in animal health care and can use his knowledge to contribute to his community. Read More.
