Kowloon Dairy’s 7th Great Record of the Kids - Parade by Heifers to End Poverty in Rural China

Kowloon Dairy has named Heifer International - HK as the beneficiary for its "7th Great Record of the Kids" - "Parade by Heifers to End Poverty in Rural China" campaign to support Heifer's poverty alleviation work in Sichuan. A design competition of "Poverty Alleviation Ambassador" and "Heifer Ambassador" is now being held in all local kindergartens and primary schools respectively. Students can make use of their creativity to turn a plain milk carton into a "Poverty Alleviation Ambassador" and "Heifer Ambassador" and return their work to schools. It takes 6.9 million steps from Hong Kong to walk to Sichuan and every milk carton received will advance the campaign by 100 steps. Kowloon Dairy has generously agreed to donate ten heifers to Heifer International - HK to assist impoverished families in rural China to get out of poverty through this campaign.
Besides, a finale event will be held in June and 1000 students will display their creative milk cartons on a large landscape structure to illustrate how animals can root out poverty. At the event, there will also be a charity sale featuring a limited-edition Heifer T-shirt designed by renowned designer, Carrie Chau. Only 200 pieces will be available. There will be booths for playing games and making "DIY" heifers out of milk cartons. The event will be open to the public free of charge.
Date: Sep 12, 2009 (Saturday)

Our heartfelt thanks to Kowloon Dairy and all participating schools for their partnership in fighting against poverty in rural China and bringing hope to the impoverished families there.
